BRUSSELS, March 12 (Reuters) - AstraZeneca has again angered
the EU by scaling back deliveries of COVID-19 vaccines, but got
a boost on Friday when the World Health Organisation dismissed
fears that have prompted countries in Europe and Asia to suspend
use of the shot.
The European Union has been much slower to start mass
vaccination than neighbouring Britain because of a slower
approval and purchasing process and repeated supply hold-ups.
Saudi Arabia Won t Send Rohingya Back To Bangladesh
Some 55,000 Rohingya allegedly reside in Saudi Arabia, many with lost or expired Bangladeshi passports. Rohingya refugees who have been residing in Saudi Arabia for decades will not be sent back to Bangladesh, a top Bangladeshi diplomat said on Wednesday following a recent visit to the kingdom. Saudi Arabia didn t say they would send Rohingya back to Bangladesh. And, there was no such issue between the two countries, said Bangladeshi State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, referring to his recent meeting with his Saudi counterpart Adel Al-Jubeir.
In replying to a question of what Bangladesh will do in response to the Saudi call to provide Bangladeshi passports to some Rohingya living in Saudi Arabia, the minister said that Bangladeshi will provide or renew passports of those who have legal documents.
March 12, 2021 THE Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service (Towns) Foundation recently issued a statement joining the call of citizens to reduce or eradicate corruption in government, which was lately sparked by the feat of Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto as one of the twelve “anti-corruption” champions named by the US.
As one of the women of Towns and currently sitting in its board, I wish to devote my column this week to share the statement. The statement entitled “Bring Back Integrity into Governance” reads, as follows:
“Towns strongly supports the call for the eradication of corruption across all levels of society since it is an obstacle to achieving a transparent, accountable, and participatory government and a people-centered development. The abatement of corruption requires the serious efforts of all in the public and the private sectors.

The Whanganui woman who had her electric tricycle stolen from her driveway is over the moon to have it back.
The trike was found on Thursday evening, around 24 hours after it was taken, and returned to owner Linda Keith on Friday.
There were multiple sightings of the bike around Whanganui city on Thursday, according to comments on social media.
